Contractor admins could finally manage their entire training program without leaving the platform — which meant instead of juggling multiple tools, it all lives in one place.

Problem
Contractor admins were managing training requirements across multiple disconnected tools. Assignments, completions, and third-party handoffs all lived in different places — creating confusion and administrative overhead.
Intervention
Designed a unified training management experience inside the existing platform. A guided wizard flow for setup, clear assignment logic, and a structured third-party handoff process — all without leaving the product.
Outcome
Admins could manage their entire training program in one place. Support call volume dropped. Client praise came in from companies that had been asking for this capability for years.
Impact
One platform
Full training management consolidated into the existing product
Fewer calls
Support volume reduced as admins self-served the workflow
Client praise
Direct feedback from clients who had requested this capability

01 / Research
Research
Interviewed contractor admins to understand the current workflow. Mapped the full journey — from requirement setup through third-party handoff — and identified where the process broke down.
02 / Define
Define
Defined the core user flows: setup wizard, assignment logic, handoff to external providers, and completion tracking. Worked with product and engineering to understand what was feasible in the first release.
03 / The hard call
The hard call
The third-party handoff had two paths: a seamless in-product integration or a structured but separate flow. The seamless version would have taken significantly longer and depended on third-party APIs we couldn't control.
"Clarity of the handoff over seamlessness of the flow"

Ship & Watch
Launched to a subset of clients. Monitored usage, collected feedback, and prioritized iterations based on where admins got stuck. Support volume dropped within the first month.
