Problem
Workers were arriving at job sites without completing required compliance training. The existing system had no clear guided path — workers didn't know what they needed or how to complete it before showing up.
Intervention
Designed a guided wizard flow that surfaces exactly what a worker needs to complete, in order, before they're cleared for a site. Integrated with legacy systems while maintaining visual coherence across the product.
Outcome
Workers arrived compliant. Site rejections dropped. The guided flow removed ambiguity from the process — workers knew exactly where they stood before heading to the gate.
Impact
Reduced
Site rejections — workers arrived knowing their compliance status
Fewer calls
Support volume dropped as workers self-served the compliance flow
Compliant
Workers show up ready — the system made compliance achievable

01 / Research
Research
Spoke with workers and site managers to understand where compliance broke down. The problem wasn't willingness — it was clarity. Workers didn't know what they needed until they were already turned away.
02 / Define
Define
Mapped the compliance requirements by site type, worker role, and client. Built a logic framework that could surface the right requirements for any worker at any site — before they showed up.
03 / Constraint
Constraint
The legacy backend data model didn't match how workers thought about compliance. A full redesign of the data layer wasn't on the table. The design had to bridge the gap visually.

Ship & Watch
Rolled out in phases by site type. Monitored completion rates and rejection incidents. Iterated on the progress state design after seeing where workers dropped off in the flow.
